Congresswoman Kilpatrick Helps Dedicate Rosa Parks Transit Center

Congresswoman Kilpatrick helped dedicate the new Rosa Parks Transit Center. The Congresswoman secured $8 million in federal funding for the 25,700 square foot facility, which is the first of its kind in Detroit, Southeastern Michigan’s largest transit hub, and the state’s largest international intermodal transit center. The Congresswoman joined other dignitaries, including Mayor Bing, at a ceremony celebrating the opening of the new center. She and Mayor Bing unveiled a custom-designed bronze plaque honoring Rosa Parks. The plaque will be mounted in the lobby of the center. (07/13/09)
